Dear XX,
We are shocked to hear of Dr Yap's accident. How could it happened to such a kind and gentle man like him! Are all his sons being around in Sarawak? How's his wife? When you said his brain died, does that mean he's dead or just unconscious(he's motionless and doesn't know and feel the surroundings). So the family didn't celebrate CNY?
For us here, every CNY is the same quiet one. We never really celebrated since we moved here except our own family reunion dinner at home. We never go visiting cos we've no friends here and our sons colleagues also didn't visit us. So we're very free. Some CNYs we were not in Penang. We went for hols during the festive seasons. Like last Christmas, we went to KL for a week and when we came back, 2 of my sisters and their families from Australia came to visit us. We had great times with them. They left before CNY.
How are you, Jee Ee and everyone at home? This year did you all (the Kueh families) celebrate the dinner like every CNY? Did Jee Ee cook many dishes? Did Sok Beng go back to Sarikei to celebrate CNY with you all? How's Sok Beng and Chui Kiaw ee?
Hope this mail finds you all in good health. Please send my thoughts to Jee Ee and all at home. Thanks.
Bye for now.
Regards
Evelyn

Dear Evelyn,
Having a Happy New Year eh?
For us, we were quite sad and worried about our dear relative, Dr. Yip. He had an accident on last friday(1/2/2008). He was knocked down by a young boy without driving licene (motor-bike) while doctor was having his jogging. Doctor was seriously flied and fell down on concrete floor with his head down. He was sent to Sarikei General Hospital, and then Sibu, lastly sent to Kch GH. The brain died and will send back home within these few days.
We are very sad about this news!
Just want to tell u this piece of bad news.
